  1. Today’s lunch is Popcorn Chicken.


  1. REMINDERS AGAIN: 

                -Cell phones are to be kept locked in your locker. 

    -CHARGED Chromebooks must be brought to school everyday.  

    -Dress code must be followed. 

        -Do not bring glass water bottles/containers to school


  1. Student Council Members, please check google classroom for the latest updates and for upcoming committee meetings.


  1. Attention Jr. Honor Society Members, there will be a meeting today during 8th grade study hall. All members are expected to attend.


  1. Reminder to volleyball players - turn in your uniform and bag to Mrs. Wennes by Friday.


  1. Cross country uniforms must be turned in to Mrs. LaCrosse by Friday.


  1. STEAM Club meets this Friday in Mr. Haplea's room for 7th and 8th graders!

We meet from 2:30-4:00. Please have a ride ready at 4:00. That's STEAM Club this Friday for 7th and 8th graders only in Mr. Haplea's room from 2:30-4:00.


  1. Student Council will be taking orders for treat bags. The cost for each bag is $1, and students may order them at lunch today and tomorrow. Bags will be delivered at the end of the day on Oct. 31st.


  1. This Friday marks the end of the first quarter grading period.  Please be sure fees/lunch charges are paid.  Grade cards will be distributed next Friday


  1. Student Council is sponsoring a Halloween Costume contest on Tuesday, October 31st.  Prizes will be given for Scariest, Most Detailed, Best Group, Funniest, Most Original/Creative and Best Overall.  No weapons, face paint or masks permitted.


  1. 6th grade boys travel basketball tryouts are today from 7:40pm - 9:00pm at Woodlands. If you have not registered yet and want to attend please see Mr. Miller.


  1. 6th grade girls travel basketball tryouts are today from 3:15 - 4:30 at Woodlands.

 

  1. Junior High Girls Basketball will start Friday, with an informational meeting and open gym at Woodlands from 2:45-4:15.  Tryouts will be held from Monday, October 30 to Wednesday, November 1 from 6:30-8:00pm at Woodlands.  You must have a current physical on file to participate in the open gym, tryouts, and the season.  Any questions please contact Coach Bauer and/or Coach Hotz.


  1. 7th and 8th grade boys basketball:  The tryout dates have been moved up to next Monday and Tuesday, October 30th and 31st from 2:45-4:45 at Mccormick. Tell your parents to follow Huron Basketball on Twitter, Instagram, and facebook for updates. If you have questions, see Mr. Miller or Mr. Demos.


  1. On Wednesday, November 1st, at 2:00, there will be a meeting for 7th and 8th graders interested in Wrestling.


  1. McCormick students remember we want to recognize those students that are performing kind acts. If you notice a student helping someone else, or being extremely kind or compassionate please complete a chain link for them. We want to build a chain of kindness that will stretch throughout our building. Please make sure you are recognizing students that are going out of their way to do something special for someone else by completing a chain link. 


  1. McCormick Students - When you receive something, do not insult the gift or the giver.


  1. Are you working to stay in the game?  All students who have a 98% attendance rate for the school year will be entered into a drawing for Browns tickets. Also the grade level with the highest attendance rate for the quarter will win an award. Currently the 6th grade is in the lead with an attendance rate of 99.5%. Grades 7 & 8 are right behind them with rates of 99.23% and 99.05%.  Great job everyone.   This is the last week of the quarter so make sure you are coming to school each day.
