HURON HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS - MONDAY, DECEMBER 19,  2016

1.  Saturday at Fremont, the Tiger swim teams competed in the 15-team St. Josephs Streak Invitational. The girls team finished 5th while the boys team won two relays, had 3 individual champions and one meet record by Derek Griffin in the 100 yard freestyle on way to a 1st place team finish. The girls team is 2-2 while the boys team is 4-0 as they head to Perkins on Tuesday for a dual meet.

2All students who participated in the Fall semester of CCP at Firelands College - your textbooks were to be returned to Firelands bookstore last Friday.  If you have a text book that Firelands will not take back because it has a "zero value" - you MUST turn that book into the high school office, to Mrs. Enderle or Mrs. Steinmetz.

3.  New scholarship for Seniors: 

Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award Recipients should demonstrate outstanding academic achievement as indicated by high school grades, test scores, and school activities and awards. Applications can be found in the Guidance office and also completed applications are to be returned to the Guidance office by January 27, 2016.

BGSU Science and Math Education in ACTION ScholarshipQualified high school seniors considering a career as a science and/or mathematics teacher may apply now for the Science and Math Education in ACTION program at BGSU. Apply online at bgsu.edu/action DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JANUARY 15, 2017

4.  There is a 4th grade female at Woodlands looking for a female high school Math tutor 2-3 times a week.  This can be a paid position or done for community service.  Please see Mrs. Fahr for more information!

5.  Navy ROTC: Attention Students:  Kelsey Ohm, a former HHS graduate and now midshipman in the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at The George Washington University will be visiting Monday, January 9th at 10:00 a.m. in the Tiger Union. She will be providing information about how you can apply for a 100% full tuition scholarship applicable for many schools, while explaining what ROTC is and sharing her own personal experiences.  Stop into the Guidance office to sign up.


6.  Lunch today is a pizza calzone.
