ANNOUNCEMENTS - THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2016
1. Attention all Juniors going on the class trip: The second payment of $200 is due by next Friday (12/16).
2. Navy ROTC: Attention Students: Kelsey Ohm, a
former HHS graduate and now midshipman in the Naval Reserve Officer
Training Corps at The George Washington University will be visiting Monday, January 9th at 10:00 a.m.
in the Tiger Union. She will be providing information about how you can
apply for a 100% full tuition scholarship applicable for many schools,
while explaining what ROTC is and sharing her own personal experiences.
Stop into the Guidance office to sign up.
3. Reminder: Youth Coalition forms are due to the Guidance office by December 16th.
4. Seniors: Reminder that The Ohio State University Alumni Scholarship deadline is December 11th. Please request your transcript to be included with your application if planning to apply.
5. Seniors please be checking Naviance for the following new scholarships:
Erie County Farm Bureau, Ag-Related Scholarship - Ag-related
$750 scholarship: Parent or student must be a current member of the
Erie County Farm Bureau, Inc. and planning to enroll in the fall of 2017
at a post-secondary institution majoring in an agriculturally related
program in the state of Ohio. Applications are in the Guidance office
and can be mailed or hand delivered to the above address. Be sure to
include ALL required documents. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MARCH 15, 2017.
Erie County Farm Bureau, General Scholarship -
$750 scholarship award available to students enrolling in the fall of
2017 at a two or four year college or university in Ohio as a full-time
student. Parent or student must be a current member of the Erie County
Farm Bureau, Inc. Come to the Guidance office for more information and
applications. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MARCH 15, 2017.
Aspiring Fashion Professional - This is a $1,000 scholarship that
will be awarded to students that are interested in pursuing a fashion
degree at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested
students can visit www.fashion-schools.org DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JUNE 1, 2017.
Aspiring Animation Professional - AnimationCareerReview.com is offering $1,000 scholarship to students that are interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited post-secondary school or college. Visit http://www.animationcareerreview.com/ to find eligibility information along with the online application. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JUNE 1, 2017.
Aspiring Business Professional Scholarship - Scholarship award of $1,000 available
to students that are interested in pursuing a business degree at any
accredited post-secondary school or college. Interested students can

Ohio Oil & Gas Education Foundation -
Scholarship award of $1,000 available to students wishing to pursue a
career in the crude oil and natural gas industry, or related energy
field. Applicants must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and plan to
attend an accredited OHIO college, university, technical, or trade
school. Applications can be found at www.oogeep.org and also in the Guidance Office. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MARCH 1, 2017.
6. Next
week, Tuesday through Friday, the After Prom committee will be selling
candy grams for $1 during lunch. This is a fundraiser for the After
Prom committee. The candy grams will be passed out before Christmas
break. Don't miss out on sending your friends a candy gram!

Help
us spread happiness this Christmas by being a part of Project
Happy-Christmas. We are asking that you join us in purchasing, filling
and wrapping ONE shoe box for children in Erie County. Return it to a
participating church/business/school or one of the drop spots listed on
flyers posted around school. Shoe boxes need to be collected by
December 15th.
