HURON HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS - FRIDAY, MAY 20, 2016

1.  Reminder that 1st and 2nd period Study Halls need to report to the high school library today.

2.  Senior Clearance slips are now available in the high school office.  Band and Study Hall will receive theirs in 1st period.  These must be signed off on by all your teachers after materials, fines, library books, etc have been taken care of.  You also must have the cafeteria sign off that you don't owe any lunch money and finally, Mrs. Enderle will be the last to sign.  The last day to turn your clearance slip in is Wednesday, May 26th, at 10am

3.  If you are in the top 10%, please get your picture and info to Mrs. Lee by the end of the day today

4.  There will be a final National Honor Society meeting for all Sophomores and Juniors this Monday, May 23, after school in the library. We will be voting on by-law changes and voting in next year's officers, so please be sure to attend.  See Mrs. Merckens with questions.

5.  There will be a meeting after school today in the cafeteria for anyone interested in playing Girls Tennis in the fall.

6.  Juniors, your Senior shirts will be in on Tuesday, the 24th.  Plan on wearing them Wednesday the 25th!

7.  If you have a fourth period elective OR study hall next year and would be interested in taking an advanced conditioning class instead, see Mrs. Fahr today!

Attention all students looking for volunteer hours: The Presbyterian Church in Huron is looking for student volunteers with their Kids Cafe Christian Art Enrichment Program held on July 5, 6, and 7 from 9am-12pm.  This program serves ages 3-10 year olds and they could use any of your artistic, singing, or dancing help.  Call or text Agnes Toldy at 419-656-1651 or email her at [email protected].

9.  Just a reminder there will be no more charging allowed in the cafeteria for this school year.  Mrs. Rosenberg asks that you please check on your lunch balance, even if you haven't bought lately - this includes seniors as there are many of you who owe money.

10.  For anyone interested in Tigerettes - tryouts will be held on Tuesday, May 31 (5-7:30) and Wednesday, June 1 (9-12) in the high school band room.

Attention students seeking volunteer hours!

The Friends of the Huron Public Library are looking for helping hands to set up and tear down their Book Sale at the Huron Library. Volunteers would be asked to move boxes out of storage and alphabetize or organize books according to subject.Volunteers are needed on Thursday, June 2 beginning at 9 AM and again on Monday, June 6 beginning at 9 AM. There is a sign-up sheet for volunteers at the Huron Library, just ask an employee at the circulation desktop sign-up.

12.  The annual Powderpuff football game will be held tonight at the football stadium.  Coaches and players should arrive by 5:30, and the game begins at 6:00.  Admission is a $2 donation to help fund the Tiger Union library renovation.  We hope you come out to watch!

13.  On Thursdays from 5-6:30 Coach Decker will be
holding open bowling and clinics for anyone interested in bowling. It is highly recommended for last years bowlers along with new bowlers. It is open to high school and middle school bowlers. Any questions call Jeff Decker at 419-366-2302 .  The cost is $6.

14  If you are a student under the age of 18 and are planning on securing a summer job, you will need a work permit.  These are located outside the high school office.  There's a portion to be filled out by your parent, the employer and on the back is where you need a physician's signature stating you are able to perform the job.  The physician's signature is needed only if you DO NOT have a valid physical on file in the high school office already.  Once the form is completed, please drop that off to the high school office.  Usually the work permit (which you will need to sign) will be ready for you that afternoon or the following day.  Please plan accordingly.  Stop in with any questions.

15.  Senior scholarship recipients are reminded - in order to have the scholarship check sent to your respective college you will need to get a copy of your bursar bill, college student id number as well as a copy of the award letter to Mrs. Enderle.  In order to print off your Bursar bill you will have had to schedule classes. If you have any questions, please stop into the office.

16.  Lunch today is bosco breadsticks.  Salad bar will no longer be an option for the remainder of the school year.
