1. There will be a short meeting in the cafeteria after school Thursday for those interested in participating in track.
2. New scholarships available in Guidance office:
HERB GUILD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – A one-year scholarship is available to graduating
high school seniors as well as LCCC or Cuyahoga Community College current
freshman or sophomore students.
Only students with a proposed academic study in forestry, botany,
horticulture, environmental science, agriculture, landscaping, or culinary arts
are eligible. Stop into the
Guidance office for more information and applications. DEADLINE
APRIL 1, 2016.
BGSU BIOLOGICAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP – $500 scholarship available to students who have
made a formal application, have been admitted to BGSU, and are incoming Biology
Majors are eligible to apply. Online applications are being accepted now. DEADLINE FEBRUARY 26, 2016.
3. The Huron Public Library is holding a Valentine Chess Tournament this Saturday, February 13 from 9 am - 5 pm. There will be 2 divisions- high school for grades 9 - 12 and middle school for grades 5 - 8. Players must register at huronlibrary.org or by calling
419-433-5009 by Friday.
The cost to play is $1 and lunch will be provided. Additional food will
be available for purchase. Trophies will be awarded for the top three
winning players in each division. For additional information call 419-433-5009.4. Mrs. Fahr will be meeting with all students who took the PSAT this Thursday
in the Library at the beginning of 4th period to hand out and go over
results. Please make sure to check in with your 4th period teacher first
and then come to the library.
5. A reminder to all Sophomores and Juniors who did not turn in course recommendation
sheets to the Guidance Office yet - Please turn them in TODAY!
Freshmen are due tomorrow!

6. Have you ever thought of a career in pharmacy, medicine, nursing, or
optometry? The Ohio State University is holding an exciting career
exploration event for high school and current undergraduates interested
in any clinical health care or research career. Pharmacy Day (held on Sat. April 9th)
will give students and their families a first-hand look at what it
means to study in the pharmaceutical sciences. If you are

7. A reminder to all Seniors, please make sure to verify your diploma in the Guidance Office by this Thursday Feb. 11th. and to complete and turn in all cord applications to Mrs. Smith in the Guidance Office by next Friday, Feb. 19th.
8. Attention all Seniors: Honor cord applications are available in the
Guidance Office NOW! You will need to attach a copy of your unofficial
transcript to each application. All applications are due by Feb. 19th at 2:45pm.
9. Lunch today is bosco breadsticks or a hot ham & cheese sandwich.
