ANNOUNCEMENTS - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2016
1. Ripcho Studio will be here on Monday, September 12th, to take pictures
of our faculty and underclassmen (9-11 grades). Please remember to
bring your picture form with you on Monday, filled out and with payment enclosed. Extra forms are in the office.
2.
The 2015-16 yearbooks have arrived! If you ordered one, you may stop
into the office during your study hall OR if you don't have study hall,
during lunch to sign for your yearbook. You will not be allowed to pick
up yearbooks for other students.
3.
Huron Boys Golf team moved into a tie for first place with a win over
Clyde last night 166-180. Leading the way for the Tigers were Max
Martin 37, Thomas Hufnagle 41 and Jaret Monak & Jacob Moncher 44.
Great job Tigers!
4. Attention students interested in ART CLUB. Stop by the ART room (211) this week to sign up. You
do not have to be in Art to be in ART Club. You do not have to attend
every meeting to be in art club. Come to the ones that fit your
schedule. Hope to see you there!
5. Attention Students: The following colleges/universities are scheduled to visit with interested students in the Tiger Union. Sept. 12th 9:00 - Ohio Wesleyan University
Sept. 14th 10:00 - Wright State University
Sept. 14th 12:45 - Miami University
Sept. 16th 1:00pm - Cleveland Institute of Art
All
students wishing to visit with representatives need to come to the
Guidance office and sign-up. Tiger Union passes will be given out the
day of visit.
6. Attention All grade level students.
The Student Tutoring
Program is looking for students who would like to become tutors during
your study hall or before or after school.
Qualifications are:
- Strong knowledge of Math, science or English.
- Trustworthy
- Kind
- Willingness to help others
This
is a great leadership and community service opportunity. If you would
like to become a student tutor, please see Ms Ryan sometime this week
for a further explanation.
7. Attention Students: Great Wolf Lodge will be visiting Monday, September 12th
during lunch periods to discuss several employment opportunities. Stop
by their table to learn more about what they have to offer!
8. The yearbook club will have its first meeting on Monday, 9/12,
right after school in room 99. If you are interested in being involved,
you must either show up at the meeting or see Mrs. Lee sometime before
the meeting.
9. ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP – Several four-year scholarships available to high
school seniors with leadership qualities and financial need. For more information and to apply,
visit enf.elks.org/mvs. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS NOVEMBER 30, 2016.
10. The "Elks Student of the Month" applications are available in the guidance office. If selected as a student of the month, you will not only be entered into the local scholarship competition but also have your bio in the Sandusky
Register and be invited to a scholarship dinner in May. There are
numerous scholarship opportunities available so don't hesitate to apply!
Applications are due by Friday, September 30th.
11. U.S. BANK –
Scholarship awards of up to $20,000 available for students enrolling in a two or
four-year college or university.
Interested students should register and complete free online learning
tutorials at usbank.com/studentunion.
DEADLINE TO APPLY IS SEPTEMBER
30, 2016. Seniors are reminded to check the bulletin boards in your
Senior English class and also outside the Guidance office for up to date
scholarship offerings.
