  1. Today’s lunch is Pizza Bites.


  1. On Monday, January 8th, Woodlands Elementary ROX will host a District wide Purple Out and Jeans Day. Please join us in dressing in purple attire to honor the life of Evelyn Bauer, a student of Huron City Schools who passed away suddenly last year. Monetary donations are welcome and appreciated, and will be collected Monday in your first period class or the main office. The donations are to be given to the Bauer family for the nonprofit organization that they created in Evelyn's honor, All for Evelyn.


  1. Only go to the cafeteria in the morning if you are purchasing breakfast.  If you are not purchasing breakfast, go to the auditorium and wait for the bell.


  1. ROX will meet today in room 103, the art room. 7th grade ROX will meet during 5th period. 8th grade ROX will meet after lunch from 12:29-1:18.


  1. The end of the second quarter is January 12.  Grade cards will be distributed on January 19.  Please make sure your fees are paid so your grade card is not withheld.


  1. Saturday mornings in February, EHOVE has Youth Enrichment Programs.  Register online at ehove.net beginning Thursday, January 4 through Tuesday, January 30th. Register early.  Class size is limited.   Information is available online at ehove.net and brochures are available in the office.


  1. McCormick students when walking to or from the school campus you are to remain on the public sidewalks.  Walking through private property is disrespectful to the property owners if you have not received permission from them first.  Please stay on the public sidewalks and show our neighbors respect.  


  1. McCormick students remember we want to recognize those students that are performing kind acts. If you notice a student helping someone else, or being extremely kind or compassionate please complete a chain link for them. We want to build a chain of kindness that will stretch throughout our building. Please make sure you are recognizing students that are going out of their way to do something special for someone else by completing a chain link.  


  1. McCormick students when someone offers you food, take only your fair share. Be respectful of their kindness to share. 


  1. Make sure you are exhibiting the skills of Positive Communication, Positive Group/Team Work, Being to class on Time, Problem Solving, Questioning and Reflecting, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Listening, and Empathy for a chance to earn a ticket for the end of the quarter rewards.  We will be giving away some great prizes.  


  1. The end of the quarter is only 2 weeks away.  Our quarterly attendance competition is close again this quarter. The average daily attendance for the three grades are 94.9%, 93.71% and 93.43%.  The race is very tight with the 6th grade in a slight lead and 8th grade right behind them.  Stay in the game and come to school each day so your grade can win the reward.  Last quarter the 6th grade won. Who will it be this quarter? We only have 6 days left.
