  1. Today’s lunch is Crispy Chicken.


  1. The following students will recycle today since we did not recycle on Dec. 20th: Blaire Johnson, Hadley Barkema, and Lauren LaCivita. Please see Mrs. Rowen after your lunch for a pass.


  1. Girls 7th grade basketball defeated Norwalk last night. Laney Schlessman led the team in scoring with 13, Lauren LaCivita and Kate Gilbert each scored 10, and Leah Kohlmann added 4.


The 8th grade girls beat Norwalk last night 37-28. Reece Hotz, Grace Knight, and Adelyn Vansickle all scored in double figures. 


  1. The end of the second quarter is January 12.  Grade cards will be distributed on January 19.  Please make sure your fees are paid so your grade card is not withheld.


  1. Saturday mornings in February, EHOVE has Youth Enrichment Programs.  Register online at ehove.net beginning Thursday, January 4 through Tuesday, January 30th. Register early.  Class size is limited.   Information is available online at ehove.net and brochures are available in the office.


  1. McCormick students when walking to or from the school campus you are to remain on the public sidewalks.  Walking through private property is disrespectful to the property owners if you have not received permission from them first.  Please stay on the public sidewalks and show our neighbors respect.  


  1. McCormick students respect the opinion of others whether they agree with the other person or not. During a discussion, you should respect the other students’ comments, opinions, and ideas. Listen to their thoughts attentively and do not interrupt until they have finished their entire thought. At no time do McCormick Students put down or make fun of another student for their opinion, thought or idea that they share.  


  1. McCormick students when meeting new people you should shake their hand and repeat their name.  


  1. Make sure you are exhibiting the skills of Positive Communication, Positive Group/Team Work, Being to class on Time, Problem Solving, Questioning and Reflecting, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Listening, and Empathy for a chance to earn a ticket for the end of the quarter rewards.  We will be giving away some great prizes.  


  1. The end of the quarter is only 2 weeks away.  Our quarterly attendance competition is close again this quarter. The average daily attendance for the three grades are 94.9%, 93.71% and 93.43%.  The race is very tight with the 6th grade in a slight lead and 8th grade right behind them.  Stay in the game and come to school each day so your grade can win the reward.  Last quarter the 6th grade won. Who will it be this quarter? We only have 6 days left.
