  1. Today’s lunch is Fiestada.


  1. If you are missing items like clothing, water bottles or lunch boxes, please check the lost and found located outside of the auditorium. 


  1. The 8th grade girls lost 36-34 to Clyde last night.  Adelyn Vansickle led the team with 11 points, followed by Reece Hotz, Grace Knight and Lizzi Perrin.  The seventh grade girls basketball team won a close game with Clyde 39-35. Lauren LaCivita scored 16 points and Abby Taylor had 12.


  1. Remember spirit week kicks off Wednesday. Show your holiday spirit by 6th grade wearing green, 7th grade wearing red, and 8th grade wearing white.

Check with your homeroom teacher for the entire list of spirit week themes.


  1. Reminder - school fees are due.


  1. Attention Students and Staff:

Student Council will collect Chemo Care Package items until Friday, December 15th.  Please bring in new items to your homeroom class for the kids who are battling cancer at Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. The winning homeroom class in each grade will be given a reward after Christmas break!


  1. Please join Woodlands and McCormick Rox groups with their winter coat drive.  Donate new and gently used coats for Huron students and OHGO to assist families in need.  Coats will be collected through December 18th.  The collection box is located in the hall in front of the auditorium.


  1. If you are planning to take extra days off for Winter Break, a vacation form needs to be completed and turned in to the school office.


  1. Winter Break is from December 21 - January 2.


  1. On December 20th there is an early dismissal at 1:20.


  1. When you are given something from someone, never insult that person by making negative comments about the gift or by insinuating that it wasn’t appreciated. No matter how big or small or how valuable the gift is, one should always say thank you and show gratitude.


  1. McCormick students during subject transitions and moving to different classrooms you will be swift, quiet, and orderly.


  1. Make sure you are exhibiting the skills of Positive Communication, Positive Group/Team Work, Being to class on Time, Problem Solving, Questioning and Reflecting, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Listening, and Empathy for a chance to earn a ticket for the end of the quarter rewards.  We will be giving away some great prizes.  


  1. The end of the quarter is only about 4 weeks away.  Our quarterly attendance competition is close again this quarter.  Last quarter the 6th grade won. Who will it be this quarter?  The average daily attendance for the three grades are 95%, 94% and 94%.  The race is very tight with the 6th grade in a slight lead.  Stay in the game and come to school each day. 



  1. Flu and Cold Season is here!!!  Help keep your classmates healthy by:

  • Wash your hands often, especially before eating and after sneezing or coughing.  

  • Keeping your hands away from your eyes, ears, nose and mouth.  

  • Using good cough etiquette by coughing and sneezing into your sleeve or a kleenex rather than your hands.
