  1. Today’s lunch is Chicken.


  1. Chromebooks are not to be brought to the cafeteria during lunch.


  1. Lunch money, fees and notes for the office should be brought to the office during first 

period.


  1. The 8th grade girls won their last home game of the season 62-15 over Willard. It was an amazing team effort. They will finish their regular season tonight at Edison.


  1. The 7th grade also beat Willard last night 51-6.  Payton Gammie, Ellie Ness, Allison Kohlmann, and Emma McGraw all scored for Huron. 

  2. Reminder to 7th and 8th grade students who received an eligibility letter letter for McCormick Junior Honor Society:  The deadline to return the application and essay will be 3pm on Friday, February 9, 2024. Forms turned in past that deadline cannot be accepted - no exceptions.  The application should be returned to the main office and not given to a teacher.

  3. Attention Student Council members, please check google classroom to see what day and lunch you are taking carnation orders. Also, there is a link to vote for February's dance theme. 


  1. Student Council will be taking orders for carnations today through Friday during all 3 lunches. The cost is $2 per carnation, and the flowers will be delivered on February 14.


  1. The following students are taking carnation orders today:

6th grade lunch: Zach Kuhl, Sami Chin, and Adelyn VanSickle

7th grade lunch: Blaire, Tori, Autumn

8th grade lunch: Brynn, Sami, and Jada


  1. Students interested in the Huron Softball Clinic should stop by the office for a registration form.  Deadline for registration is Friday, February 9.  Clinics start on February 25.


  1. The McCormick Way - Positive Actions, Accepting K-C-R, Working to Succeed, and Stay Safe. Let’s make sure all our decisions and actions are centered around the McCormick Way. 


  1. McCormick students when in a conversation with another person always make eye contact.


  1. Make sure you are exhibiting the skills of Positive Communication, Positive Group/Team Work, Being to class on Time, Problem Solving, Questioning and Reflecting, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Listening, and Empathy for a chance to earn a ticket for the end of the quarter rewards.  We will be giving away some great prizes.  


  1. Reminder to all students that cell phones are to remain in your locker during the school day.   


  1. The grade level winner of the 2nd quarter attendance contest was the 6th grade. They will receive their reward later this week during lunch.   So far this quarter 7th grade is in the lead with 97.2% followed by 6th grade 96.6% and 8th grade with 96.1%. Make sure you are coming to school each day and working hard to become the best person you can be.
