  1. Today’s lunch is Chicken Tenders.


  1. Huron 7th grade girls defeated edison last night 38-23 in the semi finals of the SBC tournament.  Laney Schlessman scored 11 and Kate Gilbert 10 in an amazing team effort.  The girls are back in action Saturday at 9am at Port Clinton vs. Margaretta.


  1. Attention Student Council members, we will recycle on Thursday rather than Wednesday this week. Also, any Student Council member who is available today to during their study hall, please come to Mrs. Rowen's room to help work on a project.


  1. Attention current Junior Honor Society members, please stop by and see Mrs. Rowen or Mr. Maleski to sign up for specific dates for tutoring. 

  2. Reminder to 7th and 8th grade students who received an eligibility letter for McCormick Junior Honor Society:  The deadline to return the application and essay will be 3pm this Friday, February 9, 2024. Forms turned in past that deadline cannot be accepted - no exceptions.  The application should be returned to the main office and not given to a teacher.


  1. Students interested in the Huron Softball Clinic should stop by the office for a registration form.  Deadline for registration is Friday, February 9.  Clinics start on February 25.


  1. We do have STEAM Club this Friday in Mr. Hapleas’s room.  See you Friday for STEAM Club.


  1. Interim grades will be handed out during homerooms on Thursday, February 15.


  1. School is not in session on Friday, February 16 and Monday, February 19.


  1. Parent-Teacher conferences are on Tuesday, February 20, from 3:00-6:00pm and on Thursday, February 29, from 3:00-7:00pm.  Parents received an email through Final Forms from Mr. Doughty with a link to sign up for conferences.  The sign up scheduler can also be found on our website.


  1. There will be a short meeting on Tuesday, February 20 at 2:00 for 8th graders interested in playing football next year.  Please wait to be called down.


  1. Students that are waiting to enter the cafeteria for lunch must remain in line and stay to the right hand side of the hallway allowing those students and staff room to get by.


  1. When you are given something from someone, never insult that person by making negative comments about the gift or by insinuating that it wasn’t appreciated. No matter how big or small or how valuable the gift is, one should always say thank you and show gratitude. 


  1. McCormick students work hard and complete their homework every day. 


  1. Make sure you are exhibiting the skills of Positive Communication, Positive Group/Team Work, Being to class on Time, Problem Solving, Questioning and Reflecting, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Listening, and Empathy for a chance to earn a ticket for the end of the quarter rewards.  We will be giving away some great prizes.  


  1. Reminder to all students that cell phones are to remain in your locker during the school day.   


  1. Make sure you are coming to school each day and working hard to become the best person you can be. Stay In The Game!!!
