1. There will be a Scrabble Tournament at the Huron Public Library, Saturday, February 3rd at 10pm. Registration required.
2. The annual College Credit Plus Informational meeting will be on Monday, February 5th at 6:00pm in the McCormick Auditorium.
3. There is a Parent/Student Incoming Freshman Orientation for students in the 8th grade who will be attending the high school next year, on Wednesday, February 7th at 6:00pm in the McCormick Auditorium.
4. Parent-Teacher conferences are on February 20th from 3:00 – 6:00 and on February 22nd from 3:00 – 7:00. Parents should call the office to schedule a conference time.
5. Justin Fantozzi, Engineer for Goodyear Tire, will be our Future Friday’s presenter on Friday. Students are reminded to check in with homerooms and wait for the announcement to be called down to the auditorium.
6. 2017-18 Yearbook order forms have gone out. You may order online or with cash or check and the order form. All orders must be submitted by February 24. Give order forms with check or cash to Mr. Roth in the morning, or Mr. Maleski or Mrs. Brown.
7. Flu season is here!! Help keep yourself and your classmates healthy by: Washing your hands for 20 seconds, and often, especially before eating, and after sneezing or coughing. Keep your hands away from your eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Use good cough etiquette by coughing and sneezing into your sleeve or a kleenex rather than your hands.
8. During Study Hall yesterday, eligible students received an invitation to apply for membership in McCormick Junior Honor Society. Please make sure that the letter and application was taken home and shared with your parents. Also, be aware that the final turn-in due date for your Student Activities Information Form and Essay is Friday, February 9th.
9. On Friday, February 16th at the Boys’ Varsity Basketball game, the Huron Tigers and the Vermilion Sailors are spreading the message that even rivals can join together and spread kindness. Homeroom teachers have t-shirt order forms if you would like to order a t-shirt for the game. Orders need to be placed by Tuesday, February 6th.
10. Students are encouraged to get involved by participating in the Acts of Kindness Poster Contest. Please see your homeroom teacher or the office for information. Posters are due by Friday, February 9th. The winner will receive a Kindness T-shirt and be announced at the Boys’ Basketball game on February 16th during halftime.
11. Power of the Pen will meet tomorrow to prepare for the March 17th tournament. Be there.
