Announcements - Tuesday, 12/12/17

1.  Sophomores - you had best attendance yesterday with only 3 absences!  You are only 5 days behind the juniors.  Let's see if you can surpass them before break!

.  Congratulations to Huron High School Junior, Ronnie Eytchison, for being selected to represent Ohio in the 2018 United States Senate Youth Program!  Ronnie will join two students from each state, DC, and the DOD for a week in Washington experiencing the national government in action. Students will hear major policy addresses by senators, cabinet members, officials from the Departments of State and Defense and directors of other federal agencies, as well as participate in meetings with the president and a justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Ronnie gets all transportation, hotel and meals provided for the week, and is also awarded a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies.  Huron is very proud of Ronnie's efforts and accomplishments!

3.  Attention all Juniors going on the Junior Class Trip:  2nd Payment is due by Christmas break, December 20.
 
4.  Today at 9:00am a recruiter from the US Army National Guard will be visiting.  Please sign up through Naviance if you are interested.

Also, today at 10:20 a.m., a recruiter from the US Air Force National Guard will be visiting.  Please sign up through Naviance if you are interested.

The TLC class is partnering with Abi MIller and The Cleveland Clinic to provide Christmas care packages to those with cancer.  1st periods will be having a competition to see who will raise the most goods.  The class with the most goods by December 18th will receive a breakfast party following Christmas break.  Make some kids smile this holiday season!

6.  Students taking CCP courses will need to finalize their schedule by December 15, 2017 for the second semester.  Students print out your book list and give it to Mrs. Smith in Guidance.  We will be ordering books during the week of December 18th.  Any changes to your schedule after your book has been purchased will result in a fee being charged to your account.  The fee will cover shipping and restocking fees if applicable.  If the company refuses to buy the book that we need to return due to course change, you may be charged a fee for the textbook.

All Fall CCP textbooks must be turned in to Mrs. Smith in the Guidance office where you are required to sign them back in.  Books CANNOT be dropped off without signing them back in with Mrs. Smith.

7.  If you are waitlisted for any courses, you will need to submit your schedule as of 12/15 to the Counseling office and then check your BGSU account daily to see if you have been enrolled.  It is the students responsibility to let the Counseling Office know as soon as you come off the wait list and are officially enrolled.  Keep in mind, your textbook will not be ordered until you are officially enrolled in the course.

8.  Jostens will be here on Thursday, 12/14, during lunches to hand out class rings.  Also, seniors if you have any orders you need to take care of - this would be the day to do it!

9.  Attention skiers and snowboarders:  There will be an information meeting Monday, December 18th, in the cafeteria right after school.  Deadline for registration is the following day, December 19th.  This program is offered to beginners, as well as advanced skiers and snowboarders.  Ski Club is NOT a school sponsored program.  Information packets are available in the school office.

10.  Lunch today is a steak & cheese sub or a barbecued rib sandwich.
