Announcements - Wednesday, 1/17/18

1.  Seniors your deadline to turn in community service hours to qualify for the Diploma of Distinction is today.   Please turn all hours into Mrs. Bengele in the high school office. 

2. 
Last night the Huron Tiger Bowling Team took on the Perkins Pirates. The girls shot very well but fell short for the loss. The girls were led by Erin Kleinhans with a 345 and Felicity Warren with 324.

The Huron Tiger boys won their match and beat Perkins by 234 pins. Everyone shot very well with the top two boys being Jared Ochs who shot 429 for two games and Freshman Nick Pack with a 394.

Next match is Wednesday at 4:00pm at Riverview Lanes against Fremont St. Joe

3.  Baseball Open gym Thursday at 8:30pm til 9:15pm at Woodlands.

Baseball Hitting Sunday at 4:30-5:15 (Juniors and Seniors)  5:15-6pm (Fresh/Soph) at Woodlands.

4.  Attention any student interested in participating in the EHOVE Shadow Day:  Your deadline for permission slips is today.

5.   Please check the lost and found table for any missing items.  It's located beneath the Freshman bulletin board.


6.  New scholarships for Seniors:
VacationLand FCU Scholarship opportunity - Award of $500 available to graduating seniors planning to further their post secondary studies.  Requirements and more details can be found by logging into Naviance.  DEADLINE MARCH 31, 2018

Medical Mutual is offering a one-time $500 scholarship to graduating high school seniors to be used toward their post-secondary tuition.  Eligibility requirements and more information can be found on Naviance.  DEADLINE APRIL 1, 2018.

Ohio-Michigan Assoc. LEADS! Scholarship program - several awards available to graduating high school seniors.  Log into Naviance for more information.  DEADLINE APRIL 6, 2018
Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program - Scholarship award of $1000 available to graduating seniors.  Essay requirement and full details are available on Naviance.
 
7. Huron Public Library happenings:  Euchre Night- Wednesday, January 17 at 6:30 pm.

"The Writer's Imagination" series begins Friday, January 19 at 3:30 pm. Explore your writing style with local author, Rob Smith. Registration required.

Teen Library Council meets Sunday, January 21 at 1:30 pm.

Scrabble Tournament, Saturday, February 3 at 10 am. Registration required.
