1. There is a Parent/Student Incoming Freshman Orientation for students in the 8th grade who will be attending the high school next year, TONIGHT at 6:00pm in the McCormick Auditorium.

2. Parent-Teacher conferences are on February 20th from 3:00 – 6:00 and on February 22nd from 3:00 – 7:00. Parents should call the office to schedule a conference time.

3. 2017-18 Yearbook order forms have gone out. You may order online or with cash or check and the order form. All orders must be submitted by February 24. Give order forms with check or cash to Mr. Roth in the morning, or Mr. Maleski or Mrs. Brown.

4. Flu season is here!! Help keep yourself and your classmates healthy by: Washing your hands for 20 seconds, and often, especially before eating, and after sneezing or coughing. Keep your hands away from your eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Use good cough etiquette by coughing and sneezing into your sleeve or a tissue rather than your hands.

5. Reminder: Students who received a letter inviting them to apply for potential membership in the McCormick Junior Honor Society must have the completed Student Activity Information Form and Essay turned in to the office by this Friday, February 9th.

6. On Friday, February 16th at the Boys’ Varsity Basketball game, the Huron Tigers and the Vermilion Sailors are spreading the message that even rivals can join together and spread kindness. Students are encouraged to get involved by participating in the Acts of Kindness Poster Contest. Please see your homeroom teacher or the office for information. Posters are due by Friday, February 9th. The winner will receive a Kindness T-shirt and be announced at the Boys’ Basketball game on February 16th during halftime.

7. Jonathan Merckens, Financial Advisor, will be our presenter for Future Fridays this week. Students are reminded to check in with homerooms and wait for the announcement to be called down to the auditorium.

8. Student Council will be taking orders for carnations today-Friday during both lunches. The cost is $1 per carnation. Todays’ 8th grade workers are Nate Witte, Danny Demos, and Luke Steuk. Today’s 7th grade works are Ayden Duffy, Jake Lagando, and Ronnie Casalinova.

9. Attention parents of incoming 7th and 8th graders. There will be an informational meeting for junior high students interested in cheering for 2018 football season on Wednesday, February 21st at 7pm at McCormick Junior High auditorium.

10. Power of the Pen will meet Friday from 2:45 – 3:45. All creative writers are welcome.
