Announcements - Friday, 4/20/18

1.  Seniors if you haven't already done so - please stop by the cafeteria at this time to pick up your cap and gown order.

2.  Congratulations to 5 of our Art students who won the 2018 Audobon Society drawing contest!
  Maggie McNea, Alexis Atlagivch, Madelon Kilbury, Katelyn Rogers and Madelyn Dawkins.  These talented artists will be receiving their award at the Earth Day Extravaganza at Osborn Park on Sunday at 1:00.  Join in the celebration of the Earth with food and fun activities April 22 from 11-4pm. 

3.  Tickets for “The Sound of Music” will be sold during lunch today. All tickets are $10.

4.  Job opportunity @ Label Aid, Inc. (Huron business located next to Wendy's)

 Rewinder/Flexographic Press Operator

This position is responsible for the following duties: rewinding, inspecting and packaging labels to customer specifications. Tasks include, but are not limited to, machine count verification, lifting up to 75lbs, tow motor operation.
This position is also responsible for the operation of a flexographic printing press.  Applicant must work well in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.  This position requires good verbal and written communication skills as well as working well with team members.
This position is full time  M-F  8 - 4:30 during training.  Position will change to 2nd shift eventually. 
Required education: High School or equivalent

5.  New Scholarship - David & Jacquie Clark Family Scholarship:  Scholarship award available to graduating high school seniors planning to pursue a college degree and majoring in education or special education.  Paper applications can be found outside of the HHS Counseling Office.  DEADLINE MAY 1, 2018

6.  Attention students and staff who haven't already ordered a 2017-2018 yearbook. The deadline to order a yearbook is Friday, May 18. Either order one online by visiting jostensyearbooks.com, or bring a check in to Mrs. Lee, made out to Huron High School, for $65.  
 
7.  Online course work session after school is cancelled.

8.  Mrs. Bengele is looking for 1 more female student who may be interested in a career in air traffic control to attend the May 3rd field trip.

9. 
Huron Public Library presents "Adulthood 101" with Donna Green from OSU Extension on Monday, April 23 at 6:30 pm. Come to the library to find out about smart money habits like setting a budget, balancing a checkbook, writing a check, and safe practices handling money in the digital age.

The Teen Library Council meeting for April has been moved to Wednesday, April 25 at 3 pm.

All members are encouraged to attend to plan for the May 5 after-hours Cinco de Mayo event.
