1. “Girls are powerful and need to embrace it every day. If you are interested in participating in a girl’s empowerment group, pick up a flyer in the office. You will learn about the impact of kindness and other issues that girls deal with on the daily!”

2. The College Credit Plus (CCP) Information Night for interested parents and students in grades six through eleven: David Janik from BGSU Firelands will provide basic information and answer questions regarding the CCP Program for the 2019-20 school year TONIGHT at 6:30pm in the McCormick Junior High Auditorium. If parents are unable to attend, another session will be held at Firelands BGSU on Tuesday, February 19th, 6:00pm, Room 163.

3. All parents of eighth grade students planning to attend Huron High School, are invited to an Information Night on Tuesday, February 12th at 6:30 pm in the McCormick Auditorium. Huron High School Counselors will provide an overview of the Course Planning Guide and Scheduling Process for the 2019-20 School Year.

4. Parent-Teacher conferences are on February 19th from 5pm-8pm and on February 21st from 3pm-7pm. Parents should call the office to schedule a conference time.

5. Attention Student Council members, we will meet Thursday, in Mrs. Rowen's room during 8th grade lunch. All members are expected to attend.

6. If you have received an invitation to apply for McCormick Junior Honor Society, congratulations on your excellent academic performance. Please note the submission deadline for your Student Activities Information and Essay is February 8th. Also, please be sure to take that form home and let your parents know you are working on it.

7. Power of the Pen: Our District Writing Tournament is this Saturday, February 2nd. Writers who have not turned in Emergency Forms and Permission to Publish forms will not be able to attend. Mrs. Aber needs those forms. Also, if you are planning to purchase one of the t-shirts, bring your $12.95 to Mrs. Aber and pick up your shirt.

8. If you need something to do on the weekend and enjoy playing Chess or want to learn how to play, stop by the Huron Public Library! The Library is hosting an open chess program on Saturday, February 2nd from 10am-12pm. No registration necessary so stop by anytime.
