Announcements - Friday, 2/8/19
1. Attention CCP students taking classes online or on campus - last day to
drop College Credit Plus classes at BGSU with no penalty to students is Monday, February 11th - please make sure you have notified your CCP advisor by e-mail or in person by the end of the day Friday, February 8th to ensure enough time is available to process all requested drops! Also, be sure you let the Guidance office at HHS know.
2. Congratulations
to the Academic Challenge team who finished the regular
season in second place out of 18 teams. This qualifies them for the
championship round of competition against the Perkins and Edison teams.
Round 1 will be held at Perkins HS next Tuesday morning.
3. Congratulations to Isabella Fantozzi, Olivia Arambula, and Mitchell
Kaminski for being nominated by high school staff members for the Huron
Tiger Core Value Scholars program for the month of January. All 3
nominees are to stop by the office today to receive a t - shirt. A
special congratulations goes out to Olivia Arambula for the being the
top vote getter for January. Olivia also receives a 4 pack of Cedar
Point tickets for being an honest student. Congratulations Olivia!
4. There will be a short meeting in the cafeteria after school today for boys interested in playing tennis this Spring.
5. A representative form the US Army will be here during lunches today. Stop by their table with any questions.
6. Community service opportunity:
The Helping Hand Food Pantry is looking for volunteers to work on Saturday mornings. Please contact Rev. John at 419-366-0524.
7. Reminder to ALL Juniors - The ACT will be administered at
Firelands College on February 20th. Students will be transported from HHS
at 7:25 a.m. and return to HHS around 11:30 a.m., at which time they are
excused for the day.
8. 5th Quarter Fridays happening
tonight & February 15 after HHS basketball games at Huron United
Methodist Church from 9-11pm. Stop by for pizza, pop, music &
games!
9. Attention Juniors and Seniors: It is job shadow season! If you are
interested in creating a job shadow experience to explore potential
career opportunities, please see Mr. Antonelli in the main office for
assistance.
10. The Huron Tiger Core Value of the month of February is:
Respectful. Being respectful can be as easy as using good manners or
being an attentive listener. Your teachers, cafeteria workers, and
custodians will be nominating our most respectful students at the end of
the month. Top vote getter wins 4 passes good for any day next summer
to Cedar Point. Be great today!

If
you are feeling stressed, anxious, or depressed, come to the Library
for our Teen Talk program today where you can speak to a
professional teen counselor for free.
Saturday, February 9, is Erie County Library Makers Day
celebrating makers and creativity of all sorts. Stop by HPL for a chance
to create a Valentine Make-and-Take craft, warm up with some hot
chocolate at out Hot Chocolate Bar, and then see what makes
your Library unique!
