  1. 1.    On Saturday, October 28th, St. Peter School is hosting the 3rd annual Spooktacular 5K and Kids Pumpkin Fun Run.  All runners and walkers are welcome.  Costumes are encouraged.  There will be lots of food and prizes after the race.

    2.    7th and 8th grade girls basketball open gym will be held at McCormick October 22nd from 3-4:30. Tryouts will be October 27th through November 3rd.

    3.    Today, Environmental Consultant, Tammy Endlish, will be here for both 7th and 8th grade study halls for the Future Fridays presentation.  Students are reminded to check in to their homerooms and wait for the announcement to be called down to the auditorium.

    4.   Attention to both 7th AND 8th graders:  Are you interested in flying drones, programming robots, racing Sphero, learning to code, and designing games for the iPad? If any of those activities sounded interesting to you, stop by Mrs. LaCrosse's room for more details. That's room 201. Stop by and find out how you can get involved with drones, robots, sphero and more!

    5.   Junior High Basketball Cheer Tryouts will be at Woodlands on Tuesday, October 31st through Thursday, November 2nd. Please pick up the tryout packet in the office.  All paperwork must be completed and turned in the first day of clinic.

    6.    The Teen Library Council at the Huron Public Library will meet today starting around 3 PM. On the agenda will be Winter programming, after-hours event planning and Minute-to-Win It games! New members are always welcome. We understand if you arrive late due to school dismissal, etc.

    7.    Power of the Pen will meet today after school in Mrs. Aber’s room until 3:30.

    8.    The Huron School District has partnered with the Brewer-Garrett Company, and Republic Waste Services to promote Energy Conservation, and recycling in our schools. Enjoy Green Day and thank you for doing your part in protecting our environment and making our school district energy efficient.  In support of the Green Apple Project wear green today.

    9.    Wait, WHAAAAT?? A dance on a TUESDAY?  That's right, it's not a trick, it's a treat!  October 31st, a Tuesday, is Halloween, and that's when McCormick will have its next dance, with costumes, prizes, dancing and monstrous fun.   Tickets will be on sale for $5 starting next week. If you just want to come to school in costume on Halloween but can't come to the dance, you can do that for $1. The Halloween dance will benefit our local food pantry and hurricane relief efforts.
