WIS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Good morning today is Wednesday, September 18, 2019

*The lunch menu for today is: Choice of a Popcorn Chicken or a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. You also have the choice of any two or more of Dutch Waffle with Syrup, Fresh Veggies with Ranch or Hummus Dip, Potato Spudsters, Fresh Orange, Fruit Juice and Milk.

*Let’s keep Rachel’s Challenge alive. Make sure you are journaling regularly, accepting others and doing kind acts. Make sure you recognize those students that do kind acts by completing a chain link for them.

*Our value word for the week is: Positive Actions -  doing things that are good for you and never doing anything that could possibly harm you.

*Aristotle  once said - “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit."

*Woodlands students respect the opinion of others whether they agree with the other person or not. During a discussion, you should respect the other students’ comments, opinions, and ideas. Listen to their thoughts attentively and do not interrupt until they have finished their entire thought. Then when possible you can make statements like, “I agree with you, and I also feel that…” or “You made a valid point but I disagree with you because...” or “I feel you made an excellent observation and it made me realize…” At no time do Woodland Students put down or make fun of another student for their opinion, thought or idea that they share.

*Are you ready to accept the challenge. Challenge day is this Friday!

*Stop into the public library for some more great activities this week.

This evening the Library is hosting Euchre Night beginning at 6:30 pm. New or experienced players are welcome and no registration is necessary.

The Library's first Rockin' Readers of the season is on Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 pm. This book group for grades 3-6 meets monthly to discuss popular books for tweens. This meeting is an introduction meeting, so come to the Library if you'd like to learn more about this group!

Reminder to our Battle of the Books participants: There will be another practice session on Thursday, September 19 at 4:30 pm.

*Don’t forget this evening is also the annual Homecoming Parade and Bonfire.  Hope to see a lot of the Woodlands students there.

Tomorrow is Hawiian Day.  Come dressed for a Luau!
