Announcements - Friday, 9/27/19

1.  Presale tickets for tonight's varsity football game at Perkins are on sale in the main office.  Tickets are $5. Tickets at the gate will be $6.  Perkins has one ticket booth and the lines will be long - buy in advance!

2.  Congratulations to Danny Demos for shooting an 84 in Sectionals at Sawmill Creek Golf course and qualifying for Districts. Danny plays Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Club in Findlay!
 
3.  Freshmen please remember to bring your permission slip to the School Counseling office if you would like to attend the Futuremakers event at EHOVE.  Permission slips are due by September 30th.

4.  Volunteer Opportunity:  Huron Parks & Rec is looking for volunteers for this year's Pumpkin Festival scheduled for Saturday, October 12th.  Stop in the Counseling Office for applications!

5. BGSU will be offering Financial Aid informational meetings which are open to all students and parents:
Tuesday, Oct. 15 - BGSU Firelands Cedar Point Center Auditorium 6:00pm
Thursday, Oct. 17 - Port Clinton High School Performing Arts Center 6:00pm
Tuesday, Oct. 22 - Vermilion High School Auditorium 6:30pm
Wednesday, Oct. 30 - Bellevue High School Cafeteria 6:00pm

6.  We have extra yearbooks from the 2019 school year for sale in the high school office.  The cost is $65. 

7.  Seniors you still have time to apply for the Elks Student of the Month Scholarship.  Stop into the Counseling office with questions.

8.  Seniors be sure you are logging into your Naviance account when applying to any college/university.  If you use the Common App and you need help matching it to Naviance, please stop into the Counseling office.  Using Naviance ensures all necessary documents (transcripts, letters of recommendation, counselor forms, etc) are submitted electronically and at one time.

9.  Juniors and Sophomores interested in taking the PSAT on October 16th - Junior sign ups are going on now and Sophomore sign ups begin Monday, 9/30.  There are a limited number of tests so please sign up in the School counseling office as soon as possible.  The cost is $17 and you can pay by check (made out to Huron High School) or cash.

11.  Join us for the 8th annual "pink out" in support of the Piggyback Foundation. on October 11 at the home football game versus Oak Harbor.  Order forms are available in the high school office or at Lucky Stone.

Also, Huron Tigers Football team theme scholarship apparel is on sale now.  Order forms are available in the high school office or at Lucky Stone.

12.  Coming up at the Huron Public Library: 
Saturday, September 28, play some Chess from 10am-12pm.  No registration required.

October is Teen Celebration Month!  In honor of this celebration. teens can check out a new activity each week after school in the YA area of the Library.  The first week of October features board games and card games!

You want to know more about the gaming opportunities at the Library?  Game Night is Tuesday, October 1, at 6pm.  This Game Night session features the award winning Betrayal at House on the Hill. 

Euchre night is Wednesday, October 2 at 6:30pm.
