1. What a start to the cross
country season! The girls were third out of eight teams behind two
Div-1 programs and the boys ended up fourth (also behind two D-1
schools).
Many
of our runners ran Personal Record times (PR's) or very close to PR's.
To do that on the very first race is really impressive.
There were approximately 140 runners in each race.
The Top Five Boys finishers
Shane Thatcher ( PR of 16:31) 7th place overall
Nathan Pack 18th
Ronnie Brandal (PR of 18:25), 36th
Casey Vancauwenbergh 38th
Jon Zechman, 51st
Elijah Hart ran a PR of 22 min flat.
The Top Five Girl finishers:
Grace Moser (20:18), 8th place
Sarah Neibler 9th place
Cassie Currence 10th place
Sarah Blevins (PR of 21:48) 22nd place
Lisa Gies 31st place
Maria DiVita (PR of 23:33)
9th
grade runner Grace Moser ran fast enough to earn a spot on the freshman
record board. She currently has the third fastest time recorded by a
freshman girl since record keeping began. With the junior high girls
winning their meet and the junior high boys finishing second, the future
of Huron CC looks bright!
2. The Huron Tiger tennis team defeated Amherst Steele 3-2 last night.
Delaney Black captured a win at 1st singles while Elizabeth Mills won

Black and Gretchen Blackwell. Huron hosts Port Clinton on Thursday at Fabens Park at 4:00.
3.
