HURON HIGH SCHOOL
MONDAY, AUGUST 31, 2015
1.  Congratulations to Delaney Black and Elizabeth Mills for capturing 3rd place in the 1st doubles division on Saturday at the Perkins Doubles Tournament.  Congratulations also to Natalie Andrews and Maddie Carmel for taking 4th place in their division. 

2.  The boys and girls cross country teams competed in at the Seneca East Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.

Grace Moser had the best finish of the day, at 13th in a field loaded with division one competition.  Overall the girls team finished 7th out of 18 with Perkins being the only non D1 team ahead of them.  

Running a personal course record for the day were:

Sarah Neibler, Cassie Currence, Sarah Blevins, Maria DiVita, Nathan Pack, Ronnie Brandal, and Noah Stevens. 

Freshman Runner Connor Reis ran a personal record, taking over 2 minutes off his time.  

The next CC race will be this Saturday at the Ashland Invitational. 
3.  Attention all students who may be interested in Firefighting or EMT as a future career.  The Huron Fire Department has a few openings in their Explorer program.  If you are interested, stop into the Guidance Office and see Mrs. Fahr.

4.  Attention all students interested in attending the Model UN Conference this year:  There will be a brief meeting right after school today in room 206.  See Mrs. Merckens with any questions.


5.  Forms to order t-shirts and hoodies to benefit the Huron Football Scholarship Fund are now available in the high school office.  Please stop by if you might be interested in ordering.  Forms are to be returned to Lucky Stone.  $5 from each purchase is donated to the football scholarship fund.

6.  Lunch today is double dogs.
