Sales Tax Holiday

Sales tax holiday set for clothes, school supplies, instructional materials The state will suspend its 5.75% sales tax on Aug. 7, 8 and 9 to help parents and teachers save money while back-to-school shopping. During the sales tax holiday, the following will be exempt from sales and use tax: an item of clothing priced at $75 or less; an item of school instructional material priced at $20 or less; and an item of school supplies priced at $20 or less. There is no limit on how many items consumers can buy, and mail, telephone and
online purchases qualify, even if delivery is made after Aug. 9.
