1. Are you and your parents taking extra days off for Christmas break? A vacation form needs to be submitted to the office prior to the absence, so that the absence can be approved by Mr. Carter.

2. Would you like to help design pages for the 2014-2015 yearbooks? If you are interested, there will be a meeting during your lunch period on Friday, Dec. 5. If you are in seventh grade, bring your lunch to Mr. Maleski's room at the beginning of the lunch period. If you are in eighth grade, bring your lunch to Mrs. Brown's room. If you are interested and cannot attend the meeting, please let Mr. Maleski or Mrs. Brown know by Friday.

3. There will be an organizational meeting on Wednesday, December 10th for any boy interested in playing soccer next year as a freshman. Please report to the cafeteria at 2:50.

4. Thank you to ALL of the staff and students who kindly donated and participated in the Operation Troops Drive. It was SUPER successful and over 15 care packages were donated to United Service Organizations and the Huron Helping Hands Food Pantry. The winners for McCormick School are Mrs. Wennes’s homeroom. Congratulations students and teachers and thank you for making this so successful! Some of the packages that were sent to our Marines in Japan have already been delivered.

5. The Teen Library Council will have a holiday party and gift exchange Friday, December 12, at 3:30 pm at the Huron Public Library. Members may bring a friend, a gift, a treat to share and good cheer!

6. Sign up for the "Nightmare Before Christmas Scavenger Hunt" on Sunday, December 14 at 2 pm at the Huron Library. Get two friends to join your team to beat the other contestants. Prizes awarded. Food provided. Call or go to the library's website, huronlibrary.org to register.

7. Power of the Pen will meet tomorrow, Friday after school until 3:20, sharp, in Mrs. Aber's room 104. Come ready to write with your characters you've been creating.
