HURON HIGH SCHOOL
MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 2015

1.  After tough losses to Division I Perrysburg on Friday night, the boys and girls swim teams bounced back Saturday at the 10 team A-Bear invitational at the Sandusky High School Natatorium. The girls finished 3rd overall while the boys were 2nd overall. Derek Griffin was an individual champion in both the 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke and teamed with Nick Swope, Elijah Hart, and Riki Tanaka to win the 200 yard Freestyle Relay by over 3 1/2 seconds. The swimmers and divers will be in action Thursday night in Port Clinton.

2.  There will be an American Red Cross blood drive Thursday, December 17.  Look for sign-up sheets in your English classes and/or see James Faunda or Lisa Gies for more information on how you can help someone really in need this holiday season.

Reminder to all Juniors:  2nd payment for the Junior Class Trip is due Tuesday, December 15.

4.  There will be a brief meeting in room 104 after school on Thursday, 12/17, for anyone interested in playing baseball this season.  See Coach Hohler if you have any questions.


5.  This is a reminder to all CCP Participants taking classes on the BGSU Firelands campus or on-line:

You must return all textbooks, including work books, CD’s etc., to the BGSU Firelands bookstore located on the 1st floor of Foundation Hall no later than 5:00 pm on the last day of finals(December 18th)!

1.      Bring ID and identify yourself as a CCP participant.

2.      Do not accept money for the books.

3.      NO EXCEPTIONS!

Your high school may charge full retail price plus tax for any materials not returned by the December 18th deadline. The charges must be paid to your school district.

Books can be returned the week of:

December 14th – December 18th

Spring 2016 Books

Book Vouchers for the Spring 2016 Semester will be available for pick-up starting Monday, January 4th. Please check your BGSU email for more information in the upcoming weeks.

6.  New scholarship available in the Guidance office: 
AMERICAN LEGION ORATORICAL SCHOLARSHIP – Several awards available to eligible freshman-senior high school students that have an interest in developing a deeper knowledge and appreciation for the U.S. Constitution.  Stop into the Guidance office for competition schedule.  More information is also available by visiting their website at

7.  Attention all students who took the PSAT: Scores will be accessible beginning January 7th at www.studentscores.collegeboard.org.  Mrs. Fahr will receive your paper scores in late January.  She will be meeting with you in February to go over scores. 

8.  Huron Rotary would like to meet our Seniors at their luncheons on Tuesdays.  If you would like to attend, please pick up a form in the high school office.  Once the form is completed and turned back into the office we will schedule a time for you to go.  Please ask a friend to partner up with you as we like to send a couple at a time.

9.  Lunch today is a hot dog or a turkey wrap.
