HURON HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS - TUESDAY, MAY 17, 2016

1.  The Spring Arts Festival is tonight. The art display will open at 6:00pm and there will also be performances from the Band and Choir. Come join us for a spectacular evening of the ARTS!

2.  Attention students seeking volunteer hours!

The Friends of the Huron Public Library are looking for helping hands to set up and tear down their Book Sale at the Huron Library. Volunteers would be asked to move boxes out of storage and alphabetize or organize books according to subject.Volunteers are needed on Thursday, June 2 beginning at 9 AM and again on Monday, June 6 beginning at 9 AM. There is a sign-up sheet for volunteers at the Huron Library, just ask an employee at the circulation desktop sign-up.


3.  Attention any student interested in running cross country next fall.  There will be a brief meeting in Coach Blevins' classroom after school on Thursday.  Please plan on attending.

4.  Just a reminder there will be no more charging allowed in the cafeteria for this school year. 

5.  We'd like to congratulate Jared Fronzaglio for being named Honorable Mention All-District in Baseball this week.  Grant Ferrell was selected to the 2nd Team and Kyle Kovach was chosen
1st Team All-District.  Kyle has also been selected to play in the Mizuno All-Ohio Baseball Series in June at The Ohio State University.  This series is for the best 80 high school players in Ohio.  Congratulations to all of you!

JV Baseball Players are to turn in their washed uniforms on Wednesday 5/18 at 2:30PM in Room 104 to Coach Hohler.

Varsity players are to turn in their vests and pinstripe uniforms on Wednesday 5/18 at 2:30PM.  Keep your red uniforms for the remaining games.  If you have any questions, see Coach Hohler.
7.  Huron Boy's Track Team placed 5th overall at Sandusky Bay Conference meet with 72 pts.

Nathan Pack 5th in the 800
Shane Thatcher 4th in the 1600 and 3rd in the 3200
Jonathan Zechman 2nd in the 300 Hurdles and 3rd in the 110 Hurdles

Damien Bellamy 3rd and Casey VanCauwenbergh 4th in the Pole Vault

8.  Huron Rotary's Interact Club is accepting membership applications.  The Interact Club is trying to better the world through community and global projects.  If you are interested in joining, please pick up an application form in the office or contact Grace Moser for more information.  The forms are due back to the office by May 19, 2016.

9.  If you are a student under the age of 18 and are planning on securing a summer job, you will need a work permit.  These are located outside the high school office.  There's a portion to be filled out by your parent, the employer and on the back is where you need a physician's signature stating you are able to perform the job.  The physician's signature is needed only if you DO NOT have a valid physical on file in the high school office already.  Once the form is completed, please drop that off to the high school office.  Usually the work permit (which you will need to sign) will be ready for you that afternoon or the following day.  Please plan accordingly.  Stop in with any questions.

10.  For anyone interested in Tigerettes - tryouts will be held on Tuesday, May 31 (5-7:30) and Wednesday, June 1 (9-12) in the high school band room.

11.  Lunch today is a burrito bowl or a toasted pizza sub.  Tomorrow's lunch (Wednesday) has been changed to Italian calzones.
