HURON HIGH SCHOOL
1. This weekend the boys and girls cross country teams competed at the
Fostoria Boosters Cross Country Invitational. The boys were 7th out of
18 teams with Shane Thatcher leading the Tigers with his 4th place
finish out of 199 runners. Nathan Pack finished 23rd.
The
girls were the 2015 Fostoria Invitational Champions, winning the meet
by 21 points. They were led by Grace Moser who was 4th overall out of
150 runners.
Rounding out the top seven were:
Cassie Currence (9th), Sarah Neibler (13th), Hunter Garbe (15th), Katey
Franks (29th), Sarah Blevins (32nd), and Jenna Burrier in (49th).
Taylor Gies had the only personal record on what was a difficult course.
Come support both teams next Saturday as they vie for an SBC championship at BGSU Firelands. Races start at 9:00 a.m.

Attention all students attending Firelands college for classes: Your grade check forms are due back to the Guidance office today.
3. The "I
Huron Football" t-shirts are ready to be ordered now. These shirts are
worn on Senior NIght, the last home football game. The t-shirts are on
sale at Lucky Stone for $20 each. The last day to order a shirt is October 20th, so please don't wait! See Allison Gorby or Kaitlyn Krueger with any questions.
4. Attention all Juniors: Reminder that permission slips and first payment for the class trip are due Wednesday, October 15.

The Huron Interact Club is an International Service organization of
13-18 year olds sponsored by the Huron Rotary Club. To fund their first
International project, the Huron Interact Club will be holding a
spaghetti dinner and raffle on November 1st from 6-7:30pm
at the First Presbyterian Church. Dinner tickets are $10, and raffle
tickets are $5. Carryout is available and you do not need to be present
to win a raffle prize.
6. On
Tuesday, October 13, there will be a meeting after school in the
cafeteria for those interested in bowling. Please plan on attending.
7. Attention any senior who did not get senior pictures taken by
Lifetouch/Woodard Photography. If you want to be included in the
portrait section of the yearbook, you must participate in the FREE
Woodard portrait session, during the morning of Wednesday, October 21. They will be in room 107 from 7:15am to 9:15am to take FREE portrait shots of you just for the yearbook. Please plan and dress accordingly.
8. Did you know October is Breast Cancer
Awareness Month? For a $1 donation you can buy a football during lunch
on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, to honor someone you know who has been
diagnosed with breast cancer. All footballs will hang in the cafeteria
for the month of October to commemorate our loved ones. Crucial Catch
will donate all proceeds to cancer research. Together we can make a
difference!
9. Attention anyone who missed out on ordering a 2014-2015 yearbook from
last year. Jostens has sent us an extra box of books. If you are
interested in purchasing a book, bring a check to the office for $65,
made out to Huron High School.

If you missed Ski Club sign up, there are a few information packets in
the office. There will be a short follow up meeting December 11th at 2:30 in the cafeteria. Any questions will be answered at this time. The deadline to sign up is December 18th.
11. Attention
all students who are taking a Bowling Green class 2nd semester at
Firelands or HHS but are not currently taking one this Fall: You must
RE-APPLY to BGSU Firelands on their website. You will not be able to
take a Spring College Credit Plus Course if you do not re-apply. Your
deadline for all applications is Friday, Nov. 13th.
12. Ripcho Studio will be here for retakes of underclassmen pictures on Tuesday, October 20th. If you have received your pictures and are not happy with them, please remember to bring those with you on October 20th. If you missed pictures all together and plan to order, there are extra forms in the high school office.
13. Lunch today is corn dogs or a cold cut sub.
