College Testing

  • ACT Test--college entrance test that students begin taking the winter of their junior year at a selected testing site.  You can take this test as many times as you want as colleges do not average your score but take your best score.  This test is preferred by HHS students and contains 4 major parts to give you a composite score.  Writing test must be taken once but score does not enter into the composite.  Register online and prepare before taking.
  • SAT Test--college entrance test that student begins to take the winter of their junior year at a selected testing site.  Test contains three major parts.  Register online and prepare before taking.
  • SAT Subject Tests--a few "select" colleges require students take at least two subject tests for admission purposes.  Students choose the tests they feel most comfortable taking and do so at a selected testing site.
  • A.P. (Advanced Placement) Tests--offered in our building after students have successfully completed the AP course.  Obtaining a specific score might allow student to not have to take introductory course in that field in college.
  • PSAT/NMSQT Test--sophomores taking at least two honors classes and all juniors are offered the opportunity to take this test at HHS on a nationally designated date in October.  Is a good preparation for college entrance testing.  Juniors scores are entered into National Merit Scholarship competition.  This is a practice SAT test.
