Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand.

Whether your child eats with us every day or just on special days, your business is important to us. The Nutrition Services department is made up of a team of food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to students' health, well being and their ability to learn. We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

There are special people on the staff at your schools whose job is to help improve students’ concentration and classroom participation, increase standardized test scores, and make sure students stay healthy and ready to learn.

Amazingly, these members of our educational team perform all of these impressive feats while wearing hairnets and aprons! Our Food Service employees may not see the inside of a classroom very often, but they do make a daily contribution to the students’ educational success. It is really a very simple recipe: research shows that students who eat well learn better. So the hard work that is done in our kitchens every day isn’t just about preparing and serving meals… it’s also about helping make good education possible.

Huron City Schools takes part in the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs. Every school day, nutritious and tasty meals are prepared and served with LOVE. Why, you can even taste the LOVE in our meals! Our program encourages students to make good choices in food and physical activity for a healthy lifestyle.

The Food Service Director along with a staff of 14, constantly strive to serve attractive, tasty, and nutritious meals that meet our students’ expectations, while adhering to the strict nutritional guidelines required by the State and Federal Government.


 

BREAKFAST IS SERVED!

Are your school mornings rather crazy? Does the alarm go off and the kids don't want to get up? Then there's the rush to get dressed and ready before the bus arrives? We're here to help! Breakfast is offered to every student, every day, in every cafeteria, until the ring of the first bell. Check out our offerings listed on your student's menu. We'd love to help!

Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.
